World AIDS Day 2010 Celebration organized by the Family Planning Organization of the Philippines Camarines Sur Chapter
Plaza Quince Martires, Naga City, Philippines
12/01/2010 • 8:00am
HIV/AIDS (Human Immunodeficiency Virus/Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome) is a complex and challenging global health issue. While it has generated many responses, more effort is required if the disease is going to be conquered. In the Philippines, a number of young people 15 to 24 years of age are already infected. There have been efforts to educate young people about the disease process, prevention, and management of HIV/ADIS and other sexually transmitted diseases. However, a lot of people especially young people who are believed to be the vulnerable group are oblivious of the situation because of their risky behaviors. A strong advocacy and implementation of HIV/AIDS programs is a must.
